Guide to Bidding

Step 1. Create an Account

  • For our new auction platform, no app is needed!
  • Unfortunately, if you had an account in our old auction app, it won't work here.
  • All customers will need to create a new account on our website, if you haven't already.
  • Click the "Sign up" button below to do so now.

Step 2. Find an Auction Listing

  • The easiest way to find a specific auction is by scanning the QR code found on the item or pallet. You can launch a built in scanner on our website by clicking the QR code scanner button, which is located in the top right of our website on mobile. Be sure to allow the correct permissions for your camera!
  • Alternatively, on supported devices, you can scan the same QR code using the default camera app on your phone, which just opens a link to the auction listing on our website.

Step 3. Place a Bid

Custom Bids:

  • To enter a specific bid amount, enter it into the "Custom bid amount" textbox, click "Bid", and then confirm your bid.

Quick Bids:

  • Alternatively, for your convenience, you can bid using one of the three "quick bid" buttons found on every auction page, which are found in $5 increments.

Proxy Bids:

You can set a proxy bid, and let our system bid automatically for you. Any amount that is greater than the minimum required for placing a custom bid, is considered your max proxy bid. The only time the system bids on your behalf, is when you set a max proxy bid placed and another bidder is trying to outbid you.

Here's how it works:

  • You place a bid that is greater than the required minimum for custom bidding (usually $1.00).
  • If no other bidder has a proxy bid placed, then the current bid price will be increased by the minimum (usually $1.00) and the rest of your max bid will be used for automatic proxy bidding.
  • If another bidder has a proxy bid placed and you bid LOWER than the proxy bid they already placed, then the current bid price will be your highest max bid. Remember: to get the winning spot, you have to outbid your opponents.
  • If another bidder has a proxy bid placed, and you bid HIGHER than them, then the current bid price will be the other persons max proxy amount + the minimum (usually $1.00) and the rest of your max bid will be used for automatic proxy bidding.
  • If you are currently in the winning position for an auction, you may increase your max bid amount at any time, which will not affect the current bid price for the auction.

Step 4. Watch & Bid

  • Click on the "My Auctions" link at the top of the website to see a list of auctions you are participating on or just watching.
  • If you wish to only watch/favorite an auction. You can click the star icon on the auction listing page.

Popcorn Bidding

"Popcorn bidding" is enabled on all auctions to give bidders more time to rebid on an item after being outbid. This is to ensure fairness by discouraging last-minute bids and giving bidders time to reconsider their bid.

  • Popcorn bidding works by resetting the remaining time left on the auction to 60 seconds, only if a bid is placed within the last 60 seconds of the auction.
  • This happens repeatedly until no bids have been placed for 60 seconds.
  • When no bids have been placed for 60 seconds, the auction closes, and the highest bidder wins.
