Auction Updates

Thank you to everyone who has provided feedback regarding the recent changes to bidding and auctions. We've been hard at work making improvements based customer feedback. Below is some of the improvements that have already been completed, and then a list of a few important improvements that you can over the next few weeks. Again, thank you everyone!

Updates

Sep 5, 2024:

  • Added a "Personal note" feature. This allows customers to save a note/description of the item.
  • Added a visual placeholder while information is loading. This is to prevent the page from jumping while navigating to an auction page. This is a work in progress.
  • Added special error handling for some edge cases where the user has a slow and/or unstable network connection. Also a work in progress. This will get better as we collect additional information.
  • Additional improvements to load time and speed.

 Coming Soon:

  • Ability to hide auctions from "My Auctions" page.
  • Improved user experience / design for bidding and filtering "My Auctions"

Aug 29, 2024:

  • Improvements to filtering on "My Auctions". We've been getting reports that the filters aren't functioning 100%. We've made more adjustments and are continuing to monitor.
  • Optimizations to improve loading speed for "My Auctions"
  • Squashed various bugs, some related to specific edge cases.
  • Added a new "system" label for bids that were placed automatically due to proxy in the bid history modal/popup. This is to help customers more easily identify how they were outbid.
  • Added a "Load more" option at the end of the "My Auctions” page. We found that in some cases, pagination isn’t triggered. This acts as a backup method.

 Coming Soon:

  • Ability for customers to enter their own description. Expected in the next couple of weeks.
  • Ability to hide auctions from "My Auctions" page.
  • Improved user experience / design for bidding and filtering "My Auctions"

Aug 22, 2024:

  • Auctions are now sorted in ascending order, by Lot #, on the "My Auctions" page.
  • Improved filtering on the "My Auctions" page. Previously, customers reported issues where auctions were showing the same lot multiple times or sometimes not at all. 
  • Changed the "star" icon to say "Add to Watchlist" or "Remove from Watchlist" so it's more easily understood what that button does.

Coming Soon:

  • Ability for customers to enter their own description.
  • Hiding auctions from "My Auctions" page.
  • Improved filters on "My Auctions" page.
